Hanen "It Takes Two To Talk" Program

Arielle Khalili, M.S., CCC-SLP is certified in the Hanen "It Takes to Talk" program, which is an evidence-based framework for engaging and coaching parents of children with language delays so they can support their child’s communication development during fun, everyday interactions. By addressing the needs of parents as adult learners and helping them learn research-based, responsive interaction strategies, you transform early language intervention into the natural, ongoing process that leads to the best possible outcomes.

Designed specifically for parents of young children (Ages: Birth-5 years)

What Will You Learn?

When you join an It Takes Two to Talk program, you learn how to:

Identify your child’s stage and style of communication
Figure out what motivates your child to interact with you
Encourage your child to start interactions with you
Follow your child’s lead to encourage continued interaction
Help your child take turns and keep interactions going
Fine-tune the way you talk during interactions to build your child’s expression and understanding
Play and read books with your child to encourage interaction and conversation

Program Components

Orientation (60-90 minutes)
A pre-program consultation with Arielle Khalili M.S., CCC-SLP, which includes an assessment of your child and setting communication goals
Eight, 2 to 2 1/2 hour sessions for individual families -or- a small group of parents, led by Hanen certified speech-language pathologist, Arielle Khalili
Three individual video feedback sessions – you and your child are recorded while playing. Then you and Arielle review and discuss the recording to see what’s working and how you can modify your use of the strategies to help your child

Telepractice Program Option

While in-person sessions are believed to be most ideal, please reach-out to Arielle if you are interested in a Telepractice program.

The telepractice model allows you to attend the program from the comfort of your own home and interact with your child in an environment familiar to them, however, via an online platform.

Arielle is licensed to offer "It Takes Two To Talk" to families via telepractice.
